Zheleznyak announced about "40 billion UAH of populism": the government is criticized for cashback on fuel and new payments
People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak criticized the new economic initiatives of the government, stating that in just one week the authorities announced programs totaling about 40 billion UAH. This includes, in particular, cashback on fuel and one-time payments to citizens.
According to the deputy, the proposed program involves returning part of the fuel expenses from the state budget. This is about compensation for drivers in the form of cashback depending on the type of fuel.
Cashback on fuel in Ukraine: what the government offers
According to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the government plans to compensate part of the fuel expenses for motorists.
The following cashback rates are planned:

15% — on diesel fuel

10% — on gasoline
-
5% — on autogas
The deputy stated that about 11 billion UAH from the state budget could be allocated to this program by May.

In addition to the fuel compensation, the authorities plan to introduce additional payments for the population.
According to the announced data:

around 13 million citizens could receive 1500 UAH each

the total amount of the program is about 19.5 billion UAH
Along with the financing of other cashback programs, expenses may exceed 40 billion UAH.
Zheleznyak stated that these funds, in his opinion, could be directed to other needs, including support for the military or assistance to internally displaced persons.
«We could increase salaries for the military or allocate funds for other important needs», — noted the deputy.
Earlier, Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that businessman Timur Mindich filed a lawsuit against him for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation.
