People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced that one of the companies that provided 10.2 million UAH as bail for former head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak may be related to the schemes of conversion centers. According to him, after the disclosed facts, he is preparing legislative changes aimed at strengthening control over the origin of funds used for bail.

Bail for Yermak: what Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced

According to the deputy, out of over 140 million UAH bail, 10.2 million UAH was provided by a company that is officially engaged in car trading.

Zheleznyak claims that at the time of the funds being provided, the owner of the enterprise was Valeriya Prodan. Later, according to him, the company was transferred to a 22-year-old new owner.

The deputy also referred to a video of a representative of the anti-corruption center «Mezha» who tried to obtain explanations from the head of the company regarding the origin of the funds, but did not receive answers to the questions posed.

Moreover, the parliament member stated that according to open data, the company did not carry out active economic activities, and the owner herself, according to him, did not have official income that could explain the possibility of providing bail of such an amount.

In his video, the people's deputy also expressed the assumption about a possible connection of the company and its former owner with structures that, according to him, had been involved in cases related to conversion centers.

At the same time, he emphasized that these statements are based on the information he gathered and require verification by competent law enforcement agencies.

According to Zheleznyak, current legislation needs to be changed to prevent the provision of bail for suspects with funds of dubious origin.

«We are currently developing a law that will ensure all bails are checked in this manner,» the deputy stated.

According to him, the corresponding draft law is planned to be presented in the Verkhovna Rada in the near future.

Earlier, Zheleznyak announced a crackdown on corrupt officials due to EU demands and 90 billion euros.
