The Ukrainian Women's Basketball Team Has Lost Positions in the FIBA Ranking
The national women's basketball team of Ukraine is ranked 42nd in the updated FIBA world ranking, which has changed following the continental tournaments. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the FBU.
Ukraine did not participate in Eurobasket-2025, thus losing seven positions, dropping from 35th place.
The USA leads, having won the FIBA Women's America Cup, while the runner-up Brazil has moved up to 9th place in the ranking. The European champion Belgium has returned to the top five of the ranking, surpassing Spain, which they defeated in the Eurobasket-2025 final.
Africa's champion Nigeria has claimed its fifth consecutive title and returned to the top 10, taking eighth place. Nigeria is the only African team that has ever been in the top 10 of the world ranking.
Australia won gold at the Asia Cup and solidified its second place in the rankings.
Among Ukraine's opponents in the qualifying round for Eurobasket-2027, Montenegro occupies the highest position, having lost 5 places and currently ranked 24th.

As reported, Ukraine confidently defeated Slovakia and improved its tournament position in the pre-qualifying group for the 2027 World Championship.
