Girona Sells Tsygankov to Trabzonspor for €12 Million
Negotiations Underway for Viktor Tsygankov’s Transfer
According to Главком: Spanish side Girona is in talks with Turkish club Trabzonspor over the transfer of Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankov. According to Turkish media, the deal is valued between €10 million and €12 million. The 28-year-old is a target for Trabzonspor, which aims to strengthen its attacking lineup following Oleksandr Zubkov’s move to Greek club AEK.
This season, Tsygankov has played 34 matches, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. His contract with Girona runs until June 2027, and his market value is estimated at €15 million. Trabzonspor, which already features Ukrainian defender Arseniy Batagov, has won 21 major national titles and secured the Turkish Cup this season.
La Liga Relegation and Tsygankov’s Prospects
In the final round of La Liga, Girona drew 1-1 with Elche, ending the season in second-to-last place and dropping out of Spain’s top division. The squad, which includes Ukrainians Vladyslav Krapyvtsov, Viktor Tsygankov, and Vladyslav Vanat, finished with 41 points-just one point short of survival. The relegation adds urgency for Girona to reduce wage costs and improve its financial position.
Sources report that active negotiations with Girona over Tsygankov’s transfer are ongoing. Trabzonspor has already contacted the player to discuss the terms of a potential deal.
Tsygankov’s move could be a major career step, giving him the chance to continue competing at a high level in Turkey. For Trabzonspor, this transfer is equally significant as the club seeks to rebuild its attacking strength after recent squad losses. Given Girona’s relegation from La Liga, the likelihood of Tsygankov’s departure increases, as the club may look to save on salaries and improve its financial situation.
