Ukrainian skeleton athlete Geraskevich on starting in the World Cup: We are preparing for the Olympics
Leader of the Ukrainian skeleton team Vladislav Geraskevich shared his impressions of the start in the first stage of the World Cup. In Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, Geraskevich finished in 11th place, while Yaroslav Lavrenyuk took 25th.
According to Geraskevich, their preparation is focused on participating in the Olympic Games, so despite the unsatisfactory result at the World Cup stage, they continue to work towards improvement. Mistakes at the start affected their performances, but this provides them with valuable experience and the opportunity to conduct necessary testing before the Olympics.
Geraskevich also noted that Yaroslav Lavrenyuk's result would not allow him to qualify for the Olympic Games; however, he will continue to participate in the European Cups to gain points. Overall, the Ukrainian team has shown good results at the European Youth Olympic Festival and the World Summer Universiade, winning several gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Ukrainian athletes continue to show high results in international competitions while maintaining a high level of preparation and motivation to reach new heights in their careers.
