His death occurred amid intense fighting, and for a time, he was listed as missing in action. His identification was made possible through the repatriation of remains and subsequent DNA analysis, finally providing his family with closure.

Oleksandr Vavryn was born on August 16, 2000, in the village of Zavodske, Lviv region. He received his early education at the Zavodske Secondary School of the Busk City Council and later attended the Busk Gymnasium named after Yevhen Petrushevych. He continued his studies at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, specializing in 'Applied Physics and Nanomaterials' and completing a military department program.

Service and Legacy

Before his military service, Oleksandr worked as a courier for 'Alko-Treiding' LLC. He was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 23, 2023, by the Zolochiv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. He served with the 152nd Separate Rifle Brigade named after Symon Petliura, fighting to defend Ukraine's territorial integrity on the Kursk and Donetsk fronts. The ongoing war has claimed the lives of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, many of whom were students and professionals like Oleksandr.

Oleksandr is survived by his parents, a brother, grandparents, his beloved girlfriend, a goddaughter, a nephew, and other close relatives. Each day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians observe a moment of remembrance for all those whose lives have been taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war, including Oleksandr Vavryn, who gave his life for his homeland.
