Occupier Lavrentiev Taken Out

According to Главком: Ukrainian defense forces have neutralized Russian occupier Sergey Lavrentiev, a former director of the construction firm Alza and a Russian master of sports in kickboxing. His funeral took place on April 23, 2026, as confirmed by the Chuvashia Kickboxing Association. Lavrentiev served in the Airborne Forces, specifically within an assault brigade.

Initial reports of Lavrentiev's death surfaced in August 2024. By January 2025, he was listed as missing in action. Lavrentiev acquired the Alza company in 2002, and from 2004 onward, the firm began constructing garages. In December 2013, Alza launched the construction of a biathlon center in Chuvashia, which was completed in 2025.

Lavrentiev's Criminal Record

Criminal proceedings against Lavrentiev were initiated in 2019, when he was detained on charges of large-scale fraud and abuse of authority. Between November 2014 and August 2016, under his direction, fake documents were produced and handed over to Alexei Yakovlev, the deputy minister of sports for Chuvashia. In September 2020, a court sentenced Yakovlev to 5.5 years in a general-regime penal colony, while Lavrentiev received an eight-year term in the same type of facility.

The elimination of Sergey Lavrentiev marks a significant milestone for Ukraine's defense forces, while his criminal past has drawn considerable public attention.

Lavrentiev's removal underscores the ongoing efforts of Ukrainian forces to counter occupiers and highlights the close ties between military involvement and the criminal histories of certain individuals engaged in the conflict.

This development is likely to fuel further debate about the role of private enterprises and individuals in warfare and their impact on society.
