Increase in the number of FPV drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to Мін. Оборони: The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 3 million FPV drones by the end of the year, which is 2.5 times more than last year. Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this, emphasizing the importance of unmanned systems in modern combat conditions.

Supply of drones and new complexes

This year, the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already delivered 2.4 million FPV drones. Among them:

  • 200 thousand drones were received through the IT system DOT-Chain Defence, which was launched at the end of July;
  • almost 15 thousand new radio-controlled complexes (RCCs) were delivered to the units of the Armed Forces.
Denys Shmyhal noted: 'The role of unmanned systems on the battlefield is increasing, and therefore the production of innovative war tools is our number one priority'.

The significant increase in the number of FPV drones that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive highlights the importance of unmanned technologies in modern warfare. In the context of active use of drones on the battlefield, their role becomes increasingly crucial for ensuring operational advantage. It is also worth noting that the effective implementation of the IT system DOT-Chain Defence may indicate the growing integration of technologies into military processes in Ukraine, contributing to the提升 operational readiness of the army.
