The Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted the encirclement near Pokrovsk: what is really happening at the front

Ukrainian forces are holding Russian occupiers near Pokrovsk. Information has spread on the internet that Ukrainian units may have been encircled. However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denies this information and states that the troops are holding defensive positions.

«The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back Russian occupiers around the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration. The enemy has been unsuccessfully attempting to dislodge our forces from this area for more than a year. At the same time, some resources are spreading information about the alleged encirclement of our units in Pokrovsk. It is absolutely not true», the statement of the General Staff says.

From the released message, it is clear that the enemy is conducting offensive actions near Pokrovsk, but Ukrainian forces continue to hold positions and counter Russian attacks.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that the situation at the front remains tense, particularly in the Pokrovsk, Dobropillia, and Novopavlivka directions. However, there is positive news about successful operations to liberate territory in the Northern Slobozhansky direction.
