Ukraine Strikes Key Russian Military Assets in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia Regions
Ukrainian Defense Forces Deliver Successful Blows
According to Главком: Over the past day and into the night of April 27, 2026, Ukraine's military carried out precision strikes on strategic Russian targets located in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, these operations underscore Kyiv's ongoing campaign to degrade Moscow's war-fighting capabilities.
In Donetsk Oblast, near the town of Selydove, Ukrainian forces destroyed an ammunition depot and an enemy command observation post. A drone control center was also hit in the area of Malynivka. These attacks highlight the consistent and effective pressure being applied by Ukrainian troops against Russian aggression.
In the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, a Tornado-S multiple rocket launcher system was struck. Each unit of this type is valued between $5 million and $8 million. Additionally, in the settlement of Mykolaivka, Ukrainian defenders targeted a Russian repair facility, a move that could significantly disrupt enemy logistics and maintenance operations.
Operations from April 21-22
Earlier operations by Ukrainian forces, conducted on April 21 and 22, also included attacks on Russian assets, notably the Striletskyi vessel traffic control center in Sevastopol. Going further back, on the night of April 18, Ukrainian troops struck four facilities belonging to Russia's oil refining sector. Fires continue to rage at the Novokuybyshevsk and Syzran oil refineries, as well as at the RPK-Vysotsk terminal of Lukoil-2 and the Tikhoretsk station.
These events demonstrate an intensification of Ukrainian defensive operations and a clear readiness to persist in the fight to reclaim occupied territories.
The rising frequency of Ukrainian attacks on strategic enemy infrastructure points to a shift in operational doctrine aimed at systematically destroying the aggressor's resources. By targeting critical military and logistical nodes, these strikes are likely to complicate Russian force sustainment, increasing pressure on occupation troops. This could also alter the broader battlefield dynamics, as diminished enemy capabilities create more favorable conditions for future Ukrainian counteroffensives.
These recent military operations are part of a broader strategy aimed at crippling the logistical and industrial capabilities of the occupying forces.
