The meeting is scheduled to take place in New York from September 21 to 23, as announced during a briefing on September 16. Alongside the presidential talks, a series of engagements with members of the US Congress, business leaders, and the Ukrainian-American community are also planned.
Focus on Maritime and Energy Truce Discussions
President Zelensky intends to address issues related to maritime and energy ceasefires during the upcoming dialogue. Tykhyy emphasized the collaborative efforts of both teams to ensure the meeting is substantive and productive:
"Teams are actively working to finalize the details of this meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and the United States, aiming to make it as meaningful as possible."
Zelensky added:
"We are open to negotiating a maritime and energy truce. I plan to discuss these topics directly with the US President, provided our schedules align and I am able to travel to New York."
