According to glavcom.ua: The episcopate of the Moscow church in Ukraine faced criticism for the address to President Zelensky, which is considered Soviet rhetoric. Metropolitan Yevstratiy (Zorya) emphasized the need to comply with Ukrainian laws and urged the head of the UOC MP to act accordingly.
The mentioned address took place in the context of the order of the State Service of Ukraine on Ethnopolitics regarding the affiliation of the UOC MP with the Russian Orthodox Church. This created legal limitations for Metropolitan Onufriy, who currently does not have Ukrainian citizenship.
