Zaluzhny congratulated Shaptal on his birthday
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny warmly congratulated his friend, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Serhiy Shaptal, on his birthday. Zaluzhny posted the relevant message on his Faceboook.
"We still have a lot of challenges ahead, but we will never be ashamed again. I am happy that in this life and during the war you have been by my side, a person for whom Ukraine truly means everything. Happy Birthday, my friend! We believe in a better future. We have already earned it," Zaluzhny wrote.
Earlier, it was reported that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, together with the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, visited the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev and the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Akhtem Chiygoz. Journalist Elvina Seitbullaeva posted a group photo on her Facebook.
It is worth reminding that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he is considering replacing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny. This was the first public comment by Volodymyr Zelensky on the possibility of dismissing Valeriy Zaluzhny.
As it is known, on January 29, former MP Borislav Bereza was the first to report Zaluzhny's dismissal from the post of Chief of the General Staff, citing sources in the Office of the President. This information was further spread by Telegram channels and some media outlets, referring to their own but unnamed sources.
Later, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine issued a statement without mentioning Zaluzhny's surname: "Dear journalists, we immediately respond to everyone: No, this is not true." Users concluded that the department was refuting the information about the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
By the way, the Advisor to the President of the United States on National Security, Jake Sullivan, stated that the United States should not interfere in personnel decisions in the Ukrainian army in light of rumors about the possible dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny.
