Today, December 17, marks 72 years since the birth of Oleksandr Henrikhovych Belyavsky, a well-known athlete in the field of chess. He gained fame as an international grandmaster since 1975 and was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR in 1990. He is also a multiple champion of the USSR and a coach.

At the age of seven, Belyavsky became interested in chess and began learning to play from his father. In 1961, he started practicing chess at the Palace of Pioneers in Lviv. His coach was the founder of the Lviv chess school, V. Kart, who now lives in Germany. At the age of 10, he had already achieved the norms of the 1st category, at 13 he became a candidate for master of sports, and at 14 he received the title of master of sports of the USSR.

Belyavsky successfully participated in the USSR Championships and international competitions, showing impressive results throughout his career. We sincerely congratulate the famous chess player on his holiday and wish him good health and further success in his professional activities!

Oleksandr Belyavsky, renowned in the chess world as a master of his craft, celebrates his 72nd birthday. He is not only a successful grandmaster and coach but also an example for many young chess players to whom he imparts his knowledge and experience.
