Ukraine launches Food from Ukraine: how the country will feed the world during the war
On November 19, the Fourth International Summit on Food Security titled 'Food from Ukraine' took place in Kyiv. World leaders, government officials, and experts gathered to discuss pressing issues of global food security. One of the key moments of the event was the presentation of the new initiative 'Food from Ukraine', which is a continuation of the 'Grain from Ukraine' program initiated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of global food security and Ukraine's role in this issue.
'We understand that food is life and security. No nation and no person deserves to suffer from hunger or have limited access to food simply because Russia has decided to earn political dividends or unleashed an aggressive war against one of the largest food-producing countries in the world - Ukraine.'
Participants of the event also discussed the problem of using international trade platforms to sell illegally exported Ukrainian grain. Sanctions against Russia were identified as one of the ways to combat this phenomenon.
At the International Summit on Food Security 'Food from Ukraine' in Kyiv, pressing issues of global food security were discussed and a new humanitarian initiative aimed at improving access to food for all peoples of the world was presented. Significant attention was paid to Ukraine's role in this process and the fight against the illegal export of Ukrainian grain abroad.
