19 conscripts detained at the border with Slovakia: how they tried to escape

The border guards of the Chop detachment identified and detained 19 men near the village of Palli in the Uzhhorod district who attempted to illegally cross the border into Slovakia. They were detected using surveillance cameras and a drone, and a response group was sent after them.

A response group from the unit and operational staff was dispatched to detain the unidentified individuals. The offenders did not respond to the border patrol's demand to stop, so the soldiers had to make several warning shots into the air.

A total of 19 men were detained while attempting to cross the border. Investigative actions and probing into the case are ongoing. This is not the first instance recently where border guards have thwarted attempts of illegal border crossing from Ukraine.

In addition to men from various regions of Ukraine, one man who separated from the group was also detained. Currently, investigative actions and inquiries are ongoing regarding potential organizers of this illegal border crossing.
