According to Велика українська енциклопедія: Today we honor the memory of the Hero of Ukraine, Serhiy Zherzhevskiy, who was born on December 24, 1987, and died on June 6, 2022. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2022 for his participation in the Russian-Ukrainian war, where he took part in the ATO and served in the 'Donbas' battalion.
Serhiy Zherzhevskiy participated in the battles for the city of Ilovaisk in 2014, was captured, but managed to escape, which motivated him to continue serving and achieving victory over the enemy. Today we remember his greatness and courage.
