Hero of Ukraine Volodymyr Barchuk: how a captain from Ivano-Frankivsk defended Kyiv and Kharkiv

According to Велика українська енциклопедія: Recently, it has been 52 years since the birth of the Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) Volodymyr Barchuk, who died in 2022 during the Russo-Ukrainian war. He was born in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region, and earned the rank of captain for bravery and dedication to the Ukrainian military.

Barchuk joined the defense of the 'Kyiv' airport and was actively involved in combat operations in the Kyiv region. Later, he led a rifle company in the Kharkiv region, where he ensured defense in a strategic direction.

Under Barchuk's leadership, his unit successfully defended the territory from enemy attacks, demonstrating high professionalism and courage.
