Afghanistan – 'A Grave for Russians': Russia Outraged by Taliban's Anthem
According to glavcom.ua: Russia became the first country to officially recognize the Taliban's power in Afghanistan, and now Moscow is studying their anthem. The lyrics of the anthem state that Afghanistan has become 'a grave for Russians' and calls to look at the remaining skulls. State Duma Deputy Alexei Chepa reacted critically to the content of the anthem, recalling a visit to Afghanistan a year and a half ago and urged to take such matters seriously.
«This must be given the utmost attention. Because if comrades want to be friends, they must treat this friendship as it should be,» he noted.
However, Moscow not only recognized the Taliban but also the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, which happened by the decision of Vladimir Putin and at the initiative of Sergey Lavrov. This step indicates Russia's desire to establish a dialogue with the territory.
Ukraine condemned Russia's decision to recognize the Taliban as the government of Afghanistan in October 2021, stressing the need to protect the rights and freedoms of the Afghan people and its position.
