US Nuclear Weapons Agency Hit by Hacker Attack

According to glavcom.ua: Hackers targeted the document management system of the American National Nuclear Security Administration through Microsoft Corp's SharePoint software. The incident occurred without compromising confidential information, but the Energy Department community also came under fire from hackers.

On Friday, July 18, the attack on Microsoft SharePoint affected the Department of Energy, but thanks to effective cybersecurity and the use of a cloud platform, the damage was detected and is being restored.

The NNSA, known for its responsibilities such as maintaining nuclear reactors for submarines and responding to radiological emergencies, was also under attack. Additionally, the International Criminal Court reported a new cyberattack on its IT infrastructure in June.

As a result of the hacker attacks on the American agency and the criminal court, software was compromised, jeopardizing the confidentiality of information and the operation of management systems. It has been emphasized that both organizations are taking steps to restore security and the functioning of systems.
