How to restore a passport, driver's license, or diploma under new rules: what is important to consider
During martial law, Ukrainians often lose documents, and the issue of restoration becomes very relevant. Experts explained how and where to apply to restore the most important papers.
You can restore your passport at the territorial division of the State Migration Service, the CNAP, or the passport service 'Document'. Instead of the lost one, an ID card is issued, and a passport in the form of a booklet - only by court decision.
In case of theft, you should first contact the police and obtain an extract from the pre-trial investigation register. You also need a birth certificate, an international passport (even expired), and an RNNPP.
The cost of restoration: within 20 days - 558 UAH, urgently (10 days) - 928 UAH.
The tax number is restored after receiving a new passport at the tax office at the place of registration. A request in the form No. 5DR with the data of the new passport is required. The issuance period is 3-5 days.
A duplicate birth certificate can be obtained at any DRACS or online through 'Dii' with an electronic signature. The service fee is 51 kopecks.
The driver's license is restored at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center offline or online through the Driver's Cabinet, where a passport, RNNPP, and a VPO certificate (if necessary) are required. Cost: plastic license - 608 UAH, electronic - 230 UAH.
Regarding military registration, servicemen and conscripts should contact the appropriate services with an application and the necessary set of documents.
Duplicates of other documents, such as a combatant's certificate, pension certificate, educational documents, and work book, can also be obtained by following the indicated procedures.
