How the average salary in Poland changed in 2026

The average salary in Poland reached 9,966 zlotys per month in February 2026. Over the year, it increased by 6.4%, yet nearly 40% of workers earned no more than 6,802 zlotys. The gap in salaries across different sectors remains significant, with the highest pay in the mining industry and certain digital professions. This is reported by the Central Statistical Office of Poland.

How salaries changed in Poland in 2026

Over the year, the average salary of Polish workers increased by 6.4%, while the median rose by 7.4%. The average figure of 9,966 zlotys does not mean that most workers earn around that amount.

A more telling statistic is the distribution of salaries. About 40% of workers in February earned no more than 6,802 zlotys per month. To be among the 30% of the highest-paid workers, a salary of at least 10,257 zlotys was necessary.

The income of the top 10% was significantly higher. To be in this category, a salary had to be at least 17,111 zlotys per month.

Thus, earning around 10,000 zlotys cannot be considered typical for most employed in Poland. The amount of payments strongly depends on profession, qualification, industry, and employer.

Where in Poland the highest salaries are paid

Some of the highest incomes have been recorded in the mining industry. The median salary for workers in the sector in February was 13,794 zlotys per month.

In the extraction of hard and lignite coal, the figure was even higher. Half of those employed in this field earned at least 16,897 zlotys per month.

High salaries are also offered in the digital sector. Workers engaged in hosting, data processing, computer infrastructure, and website management earned an average of 18,940 zlotys.

In contrast, among the lowest-paid sectors are detective and security services. The median salary in this sector was 5,547 zlotys per month.

For comparison, according to the calculations presented by the source, the average salary after taxes in Poland is equivalent to about 85,000 UAH, while in Ukraine it is about 21,800 UAH. The difference reaches approximately 63,200 UAH, making the Polish figure nearly four times higher.
