What is the salary of public transport drivers in November 2025

In Lviv, public transport drivers currently receive an average of 35,000 to 45,000 hryvnias per month. Despite this, there are still dozens of open vacancies at the municipal enterprise ATP-1. The head of the transport department of the Lviv City Council Oleg Partika spoke about the situation with staff and transport, writes Sykhiv Media.There are over fifty city routes operating within the Lviv community, and almost a quarter of them serve the Sykhiv district. 

State of transport and problem areas

In addition to buses, residents of the district use trolleybuses No. 24, 31, and 38, as well as trams No. 4 and 8. According to Partika, the number of vehicles is generally sufficient, but traffic jams on Stusa, Zelena, and the Red Kalina Avenue significantly slow down movement. During peak hours, the intervals increase due to dense traffic and chaotic parking – drivers often leave their cars near stops or in narrow sections of the road.

Staff shortages and new female drivers

The city continues to face a shortage of drivers due to mobilization and staff outflow. ATP-1 has over 60 vacancies open. To reduce the deficit, the enterprise is actively recruiting women – currently, five are already driving buses, and another one is undergoing training.

How much drivers are paid

The transport department notes that even in difficult conditions, the city is creating competitive working conditions. On average, a public transport driver can expect:

• 35–45 thousand UAH per month,

• a full social package,

• guaranteed vacations and sick leaves,

• opportunities for career growth.

The city authorities hope that stable salaries and the update of the transport fleet will help retain staff and improve the quality of transportation.
