Transport costs in Kyiv: will the fares increase?
The prices for public transport rides in the capital remain at the current level:
-
8 UAH - metro, bus, tram, trolleybus, funicular;
-
14.99 UAH - city train.
Tickets are available in various formats depending on the number of rides and the validity period.
In private minivans, the fares are set by the operators themselves. Currently, it ranges from 15 to 20 UAH per ride.
At the same time, experts note that the actual cost of transportation significantly exceeds the current tariffs. In particular, it is estimated to be more than 60 UAH for a single ride on the metro. Despite this, no decisions to increase the fare have been made so far.
Discussions about a possible review of tariffs in the capital are ongoing, but no specific changes are expected in the near future.
It should be recalled that Kyiv is preparing to increase fares in public transport due to a sharp rise in costs. The actual cost of a metro ride already exceeds 64 UAH, which forces the city to review its tariff policy.
