What are the pension supplements for extra working years in 2025

Ukrainians with overtime work experience will receive pension supplements in 2025, but their amount depends on several conditions. It concerns bonuses for years that exceed the legally established norm. This is reported by Znaj.ua.

Pension supplements in 2025: how bonuses are calculated

An overtime work experience is considered to be a period of more than 35 years for men and more than 30 years for women if the pension was assigned after 2011. For each additional year, a person receives a bonus of 1% of their pension, but there is a limitation – the supplement cannot exceed 1% of the living wage.

In 2025, the requirements for insurance experience continue to rise:

• to retire at 60, at least 32 years of experience are required

• at 63 years – 22 years is sufficient

• at 65 years – the requirement remains 15 years.

From 2026, the threshold will increase every year: at 60, 33 years of experience will be required, in 2027 – 34, in 2028 – 35. For retiring at 63, the requirements will increase to 23, 24, and 25 years respectively.

Pension supplements: when and how much can be received

The amount of the bonus increases proportionally to the number of additional years. For example, for ten years of overtime experience, a person will receive 236 hryvnias. This is the result of multiplying ten years by 23.61 – the maximum supplement for one year within the legislative limit.

These payments are seen as a way to partially compensate people for lengthy work experience, but at the same time, the rules remain strictly tied to the living wage, so the supplements are not always noticeable.
