American general spoke about Trump's character and advised how Ukrainians can sway him to their side
According to glavcom.ua: According to Lieutenant General Herbert McMaster, a former national security adviser and American Army officer, President Donald Trump is very different in private communication compared to his public persona. Open and friendly, he is very interested in interacting with people and is straightforward in his statements. McMaster expressed this opinion in an interview with the BBC.
“It is important to communicate with Trump personally. He really tries to understand the geopolitical and human aspects of situations. Although he may seem rude, he is actually interested in ending conflicts,” McMaster explained.
According to the former adviser to the president, the more Trump hears from world leaders about the importance of events in Ukraine, the better. Given that the war in eastern Ukraine also concerns European security, it is important for Trump to understand its consequences.
McMaster also noted that the roles of Russia and its allies in conflicts should be carefully studied, as this concerns overall security. He urged the dissemination of stories of Ukrainian courage and highlighting its cost, so that the events in the East are understood by both the international community and the President of the United States himself.
Inside meetings and briefings, presidents often present themselves in a tense and restrained manner and may sometimes leave an impression of strictness. However, privately, their manner of communication can be significantly more passionate and exhibit other character traits. It is important to consider this aspect when assessing the public actions of politicians.
