“The Ukrainian language has united children living all around the globe. Some left Ukraine following the full-scale invasion, while others were born abroad. For each, the language remains a vital link to Ukraine.” – Ministry of Culture of Ukraine

This marathon powerfully illustrates how Ukrainian culture continues to thrive and evolve despite physical distances and challenging circumstances.

The event highlights the crucial role of the Ukrainian language not only within Ukraine but also among diaspora communities striving to preserve their identity and heritage. Serving as a platform for children eager to maintain their linguistic roots, this online marathon is particularly meaningful amid the ongoing challenges Ukraine faces. Initiatives like this help promote Ukrainian cultural and linguistic heritage on a global stage, fostering connection and resilience.

In conjunction with efforts to strengthen cultural identity among Ukrainian children abroad, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is set to provide certificates that affirm national identity. This initiative highlights the importance of maintaining connections to Ukrainian heritage, further supporting the endeavors showcased in the recent poetry marathon.
