A 13-Year-Old Ukrainian Pole Vaulter Shatters the World Record

Юний український стрибун у висоту встановив новий світовий рекорд.

Ukrainian Athletes Set New Benchmarks

At a competition in Ruse, Bulgaria, Ukrainian pole vaulter Omelian Herasymchuk cleared 4.40 meters to claim a new world record in the U-13 category. This achievement is historic because no 13-year-old athlete had ever reached that height before. Notably, back in December of last year, Herasymchuk jumped 4.10 meters—already an impressive feat at the time.

More Ukrainian Sports Milestones

Beyond Herasymchuk’s accomplishment, rock climber Hryhorii Ilchyshyn also made headlines by setting a new European record during a World Cup stage in China. The previous record had been held by Yaroslav Tkach. Additionally, Vyacheslav Surkis became the record-holder for the most appearances in the Ukrainian Junior Football Championship, having played 100 matches in the tournament.

These achievements highlight the growing competitiveness of Ukrainian athletes on the global stage and reflect their dedication to training and pursuit of excellence. Setting records across various sports can serve as an extra motivation for young athletes striving for success in their careers.

In addition to Herasymchuk's record-breaking performance, the achievements of young Ukrainian athletes continue to impress. For instance, a talented race walker recently set a new national record in the U18 category, showcasing the depth of skill in Ukrainian sports.
