On November 20, 64 years have passed since the birthday of the Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) Yevheniy Lvivovych Telnov. He was born on November 20, 1961, in Kirovohrad, which is now known as Kropyvnytskyi in the Kirovohrad region. His life was cut short on February 15, 2015, in the village of Shyrokyne, which now belongs to the Mariupol district of Donetsk region. He was buried on February 26, 2015, in his hometown.
Telnov was an entrepreneur, volunteer, serviceman, and participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war during the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Eastern Ukraine (ATO). He was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2017, receiving this honorary distinction posthumously.
With the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, I closed my business and signed a contract for service in the military reserve of the National Guard of Ukraine. Since then, I have participated in combat operations in the eastern part of the country during the ATO.
In June 2014, Telnov signed a contract for service in the military reserve of the National Guard of Ukraine. After that, he was assigned to the 'Donbas' special forces battalion and underwent a month-long training course at the NGU training center 'Novyi Petrivtsi' near Kyiv. In the ATO zone, Telnov carried out important tasks and demonstrated high professionalism under the call sign 'Usach'.
Hero of Ukraine Yevheniy Lvivovych Telnov gave his life in defense of Ukraine against Russian aggression. He was honored as Hero of Ukraine for his heroism and dedication to the country during combat operations in the east. His contribution to the defense of Ukraine's independence remains immeasurable.
