Death of Alina Pashchenko
On July 1, 2026, Ukrainian servicewoman Alina Pashchenko, aged 22, lost her life. She was a fourth-year student at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, studying International Economic Relations at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics and Law. Alina lived in the village of Velyki Kanivtsi, located in the Cherkasy region.
She served as a drone operator with the 60th Separate Mechanized Ingulets Brigade of the 3rd Army Corps. Alina was killed while carrying out a combat mission. Just a day earlier, on June 30, 2026, her fellow students were receiving their diplomas—while she was defending the country.
The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy community expressed its condolences, stating: 'Another unissued diploma belongs to our graduate Alina Pashchenko. On June 30, her classmates received their diplomas while she was defending the state as a drone operator.'
