A New Home for Five Siblings
After losing parental care, five children have found a new home and a father in 24-year-old Heorhiy. The family was forced to flee their home city of Beryslav in the Kherson region due to the war, relocating to Kryvyi Rih. They have recently moved into a new residence that has been specially adapted to meet the children's needs.
The 'From a House to a Home' Initiative
This resettlement was made possible by the 'From a House to a Home' initiative, a project implemented by UNICEF in partnership with the Olena Zelenska Foundation. The effort received crucial support from local partners and social services, which facilitated the successful furnishing and preparation of the family's new living space.
The five brothers and sisters now have a permanent home where they can learn, play, and grow up in a safe and supportive environment. For those interested in adoption within Ukraine, relevant information is available on the website dity.gov.ua.
This case highlights the critical need to support children who have lost parental care, a situation exacerbated by the ongoing conflict.
The 'From a House to a Home' project exemplifies how targeted social initiatives can profoundly impact children's lives, providing not just shelter but also opportunities for development and adaptation. Collaboration between international organizations and local structures is vital for ensuring the well-being of such vulnerable families.
