Weekly Procurement Digest Results
The Restoration Agency of Ukraine has released its latest weekly procurement digest, detailing the purchase of materials for constructing protective engineering works around critical infrastructure sites. This report covers data from the past week across six Ukrainian regions, providing price information for fortification blocks, metal structures, rebar, and concrete.
Under a government mandate, the agency is overseeing the construction of defensive engineering at over 100 critical infrastructure locations nationwide. An analytical dashboard on the agency's website is regularly updated with the latest procurement data. In the last week, the dashboard was updated with purchase information from contractor organizations in the following regions:
- Poltava Oblast
- Odesa Oblast
- Kharkiv Oblast
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
- Mykolaiv Oblast
- Sumy Oblast
Material Pricing
Fortification blocks were procured in Odesa and Sumy oblasts. The price for a 'small' block (120×60×60 cm) ranges from 4,460 to 4,500 UAH, while a 'large' block (240×60×60 cm) costs between 7,200 and 8,500 UAH. Metal structures, purchased in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, are priced at 110,000 UAH per ton.
Rebar was procured in Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, and Kharkiv oblasts, with prices varying from 31,950 to 35,500 UAH per ton, depending on the steel grade and the construction site's remoteness. Concrete purchases were made in Mykolaiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Kharkiv oblasts, costing between 3,607 and 5,750 UAH per cubic meter.
Protecting critical infrastructure is a vital component of national security, particularly under current conditions. This procurement and pricing data reflects the state's active efforts to bolster defensive capabilities. The regular updates to the public analytics dashboard allow for monitoring progress in protective engineering and promote transparency in budgetary spending, which can help build public trust in state initiatives. These fortification projects are part of a broader national effort to harden essential services against potential threats.
As the Ukrainian government intensifies its efforts to enhance national security, understanding the broader context of these initiatives is crucial. For instance, the accelerated deployment of drone defense systems, with up to 20 kilometers of road nets being installed daily, highlights the proactive measures being taken to safeguard critical infrastructure.
