Ukrainian pensioners residing in Poland can access public healthcare almost under the same conditions as citizens of the country. To do this, it is sufficient to arrange a pension payment through a Polish bank, which automatically connects medical insurance. This is reported by InPoland.
Ukrainian pensioners in Poland pay a contribution for health insurance
In Poland, pensioners pay a 9% contribution for health insurance from the gross amount of their pension. For Polish citizens, this payment is automatically deducted from ZUS payments.
A similar system applies to Ukrainian pensioners. If a Polish bank pays the pension, 9% for health insurance is also automatically deducted.
It is only after this that a person gains access to the public healthcare system in Poland and free medical services.
