The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has prepared a guide for teachers on how to check the accuracy of increased salaries that were introduced in January. The ministry explained what teachers should pay attention to and what actions to take in case of payment delays or the lack of the promised 30% increase. This is reported by Education.UA.
The Ministry recommends first comparing the payslips from December and January. This is how one can see whether the salary scale has changed and whether the increase has been correctly applied. If the documents lack information or if an explanation from the institution's management or its founder is not provided, educators have the right to contact the ministry directly.
How to check the teacher's salary increase
The ministry advises paying attention to the following points:
- comparing the salary scale in the payslips from December and January;
- the presence of a 30% salary increase and not a one-time payment;
- compliance with the salary payment deadlines after the changes.
In case of violations, teachers can submit an official request to the Ministry.
Financing of increased salaries for educators
The ministry emphasizes that funds for increased salaries for educators are provided in the state budget. Financing is carried out through educational subventions that have been directed to communities for full payouts.
The Ministry also highlighted that the increase in salary is permanent. It specifically concerns changes to the salary scale, not a one-time payment or temporary allowance.
