From January 1, 2026, in Ukraine, the salaries of teachers have been increased. The official salaries have risen by 40%, and mandatory bonuses and allowances have been maintained. This has directly affected the income of deputy principals, whose salaries are calculated according to the Unified salary scale. This is reported by Novyny.LIVE.
The minimum official salary for pedagogical staff in 2026 is determined based on a basic rate of 3,470 UAH, which is 8.6% more than last year. According to current rules, the salary of a deputy principal is set 5-15% lower than that of the school's director. This norm is established by the Cabinet of Ministers' decree on salaries according to the Unified salary scale.
Salary of a deputy principal in 2026: how the salary is formed
The starting point for calculation is the salary grade of the school director. If the director is assigned the minimum 14th grade, the deputy director generally receives the 13th grade. For this grade, a coefficient of 2.27 is applied, which is multiplied by the basic rate.
As a result, the basic official salary of a deputy principal is 7,877 UAH. After applying the mandatory 40% bonus, the amount increases to 11,027.8 UAH without considering other allowances.
Minimum salary of a deputy principal: total amounts
In addition to the salary, teachers are entitled to an allowance for working in unfavorable conditions. Its amount depends on the location of the educational institution.
- basic salary with a 40% bonus — 11,027.8 UAH
- allowance for working conditions — 2,000 or 4,000 UAH
- total minimum salary — 13,000-15,000 UAH.
Thus, in January 2026, the minimum income of a deputy principal after all mandatory bonuses will be from 13,000 UAH.
It is worth noting that the salary of teachers without experience is less than 10,000 UAH.
