Volodymyr Rashchuk Wins the Emerald Lyre Prize
Actor Volodymyr Rashchuk has been named the recipient of the Emerald Lyre award, presented by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in the film category. Established in 2004 by the agency's administration, this honor recognizes outstanding contributions across the arts. Rashchuk, a native of Mariupol, earned the distinction for his achievements in cinema, notably for his performances in the films 'Black Raven,' 'Kakhovsky Object,' 'Konotop Witch,' and the TV series 'Border Guards.'
Life Journey and Accomplishments
At 38 years old, Rashchuk previously worked at the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater. Following the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine, he joined the National Guard of Ukraine, advancing from an infantry soldier to a company commander in the Svoboda battalion of the Rubizh brigade. He spent the first three years defending the country on the front lines before being reassigned to a staff position. For his service, Rashchuk has been awarded the Order for Courage, as well as the 'For Valiant Service' and 'Steel Cross' badges.
During his award acceptance speech, the actor remarked:
“This recognition from the State Border Guard Service is truly gratifying. From the National Guard to the State Border Guard Service. I am honored. Glory to the Nation.”
On a personal note, Volodymyr Rashchuk was previously married to actress Viktoriia Bilan-Rashchuk, and the couple shares a son named Yarema.
