Meeting Called to Address Concerns
Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), has summoned all Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) clubs to a meeting at the House of Football in Kyiv on April 14 at 12:00. This urgent gathering was prompted by public complaints from several clubs, most notably FC 'Polissya', regarding refereeing standards and their demand for the lifetime suspension of referee Denys Shurman.
FC 'Polissya' formally requested the UAF to bar Shurman from officiating, citing what they believe were decisive errors in their match against Dynamo Kyiv. The UPL Round 19 fixture, which Dynamo won 2-1, was officiated by head referee Balakin, with VAR duties handled by Shurman and Slonchak. Their stance has been publicly supported by fellow UPL clubs 'Veres' (Rivne), 'Metalist 1925' (Kharkiv), and 'Kryvbas' (Kryvyi Rih).
