The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development announced the fifth meeting of the Joint Coordinating Committee of the Emergency Recovery and Reconstruction Project, which took place in Ukraine with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Participants of the meeting discussed six priority areas of cooperation: housing for internally displaced persons, accessibility, waste recycling from destruction, restoration of transport infrastructure, energy efficiency, and educational programs.

During the meeting, the Japanese side announced the decision to extend the project implementation period until the end of March 2027. This will allow for an expansion of assistance volumes, improvement of long-term planning, and ensure the sustainable implementation of priority initiatives.

The Emergency Recovery and Reconstruction Project began in February 2023 to restore infrastructure and develop technical solutions in key sectors for a quick response to the consequences of Russia's armed aggression.

At the Joint Coordinating Committee meeting in Ukraine, participants discussed priority areas for further cooperation and received a positive decision on extending the project implementation period until 2027 to ensure the sustainable realization of initiatives and improve long-term planning of assistance.
