Attack on Kryvyi Rih
On April 23, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Kryvyi Rih using attack drones. The assault resulted in direct hits on an administrative building and an infrastructure facility. Explosions were heard around 9:40 AM, and air defense systems confirmed they were active. A fire broke out following the attack, prompting an emergency rescue operation.
A 41-year-old woman was wounded in the strike, suffering a severe chest injury.
“A 41-year-old woman is injured. She has a chest wound. Her condition is serious. Doctors are currently performing surgery and fighting to save her life,” said Oleksandr Vilkul.
The attack also damaged a high-voltage cable at one of the substations, leading to power outages affecting part of the city’s transport network.
“Due to the Shahed drone attack, a high-voltage cable at a substation was damaged. Trolleybus routes No. 1, 2, 20, and 21 are temporarily rerouted via the personal base (Bus Station). Electricians are already working to repair the damage as quickly as possible,” reported Oleksandr Vilkul.
Previous Attacks
This marks the second attack on Kryvyi Rih in recent days. On April 20, the Russian army struck the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts, as well as the city of Kryvyi Rih, wounding eight civilians. On April 17, Russian forces targeted the Dnipro, Nikopol, and Synelnykove districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region using artillery, drones, and aerial bombs.
Efforts to mitigate the attack’s consequences and restore infrastructure are currently underway.
The strikes on Kryvyi Rih and other areas of the Dnipropetrovsk region highlight an escalation in the conflict and intensified hostile actions against civilians.
