As a result of a missile and drone attack on the night of October 10, the Ukrainian energy system suffered new damages. According to the data from NEC 'Ukrenergo', some regions were left without power, and emergency outages are being introduced to stabilize the situation.

The most affected were Kyiv and the region, as well as Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions. Restrictions are in place in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In Chernihiv region, an hourly outage schedule is already in effect due to significant damage to the energy infrastructure in previous days.

'Energy specialists are doing everything possible to restore the damaged equipment to operation as soon as possible. Emergency recovery works are ongoing in each of the affected regions,' the company emphasized.

High electricity consumption despite damages

Despite the attacks, electricity consumption remains at a high level, according to seasonal indicators. Specialists explain this by the cloudy weather, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power plants and increases the load on the overall power supply network. The maximum consumption on October 9 was recorded in the morning hours at the previous level.

'We ask to refrain from simultaneously turning on several powerful electrical appliances during this day,' 'Ukrenergo' urged. The company warns that the situation in the energy system may change, therefore, Ukrainians are encouraged to follow the messages from their regional energy providers.

As a result of the massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy system, a large number of regions received an undoubtedly important warning about the significance of cautious resource use and preventing excessive electricity consumption in this crucial period. Despite the damage to the network, electricity consumption continues to remain at a high level, so it is essential to adhere to safety measures and use resources rationally, keeping an eye on updates from energy companies.
