Austria Expresses Readiness to Host Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2028
Austria has announced its intention to organize the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) in 2028, viewing the event as a key opportunity to strengthen business collaboration between Ukraine, Austria, and international partners. This commitment was made by Christina Schwarz-Fuchs, Chair of the Austrian Federal Council, during the inaugural Carpathian 8 Summit. Austria’s involvement highlights its dedication to actively supporting the reconstruction of Ukraine’s damaged infrastructure, especially critical systems.
The sixth edition of the Ukraine Recovery Conference is scheduled for January 28–29, 2027, in Tallinn. Estonia anticipates participation from government officials, private sector leaders, and civil society representatives. URC 2027 will focus on several core areas:

- Security
In 2026, the conference was held in Gdańsk, Poland, attracting roughly 7,500 participants, including nearly 70 official government delegations, international organizations, and about 5,000 business representatives. Over the course of two days, URC 2026 resulted in the signing of close to 200 agreements, declarations, contracts, and letters of intent covering areas such as infrastructure, housing, healthcare, energy, and transportation.
Christina Schwarz-Fuchs emphasized that numerous Austrian companies possess the expertise, experience, and technology necessary to contribute to Ukraine’s recovery efforts.
She also highlighted that a major goal of the potential 2028 conference is to foster stronger connections between Ukrainian and European businesses. However, no official announcement has yet been made confirming Austria as the host for the 2028 URC.
