Passengers who could not find seats on the desired train can activate automatic ticket purchase in the Ukrzaliznytsia application. The system tracks the availability of seats and purchases them according to set parameters. This is reported by Informator.
The function helps to find tickets returned by other passengers or seats that have become available for sale after a reservation is lifted. However, activating the automatic purchase does not guarantee that the desired seats will necessarily become available.
How to enable automatic ticket purchase from Ukrzaliznytsia
To use the service, you need to log in to the carrier's application through Diia.Signature. Then the passenger can set up a search for seats on a specific train or notifications about the appearance of routes between selected cities.
To activate the automatic purchase, you need to:
- select the direction, date, and required train;
- set up monitoring of available seats;
- turn on the automatic purchase feature;
- enter passenger data, up to four persons maximum;
- pay for the order and check if the application's notifications are enabled.
With regular monitoring, the user receives notifications about found places. If automatic purchase is activated, the system purchases tickets automatically, and notifications are sent only after the purchase.
Funds are deducted during the activation of the automatic purchase. If the user cancels monitoring or the required tickets are not found, the money will be automatically returned to the card.
The carrier recommends using this option during high demand for trains, when available seats quickly disappear from sale.
On which trains is automatic ticket purchase unavailable
Monitoring of seats with automatic purchase has limitations for certain international routes. According to Ukrzaliznytsia's explanation, the feature is unavailable for:
- trains to and from Poland, except Intercity+;
- the direct train Kyiv – Vienna.
At the same time, for these directions, you can receive notifications about the opening of sales. This function notifies about the start of ticket sales but does not purchase seats on behalf of the passenger.
The lack of tickets on popular routes is partly attributed by the carrier to a shortage of rolling stock due to Russian attacks. Automatic purchase helps track available seats, but does not increase the number of cars by itself.
When planning a trip, it is worth considering possible delays in opening sales. The absence of tickets in the application may mean that either the seats are sold out, or that sales for a specific route have not yet started.
