Illegal Tobacco Distribution Network Uncovered in Kyiv Region
Ukraine's Bureau of Economic Security (BES) has uncovered a criminal group operating an illegal cigarette distribution network across four districts of the Kyiv region. The suspects sold unlicensed tobacco products through retail outlets in Buchanskyi, Obukhivskyi, Boryspilskyi, and Vyshhorodskyi districts. According to the BES, these products were sold off the books, with no records in accounting or tax filings. This allowed the scheme's participants to evade excise taxes and generate unrecorded profits.

During searches conducted as part of the investigation, law enforcement confiscated nearly 37,000 packs of cigarettes lacking excise stamps. The estimated value of the seized cigarettes exceeds 5.5 million Ukrainian hryvnias.
