Drones attacked oil terminals in Russia: which targets were hit

On the night of November 2, drones attacked the Krasnodar Krai in Russia. Explosions were heard in Tuapse, Lazarevskoye, near the Temryuk seaport. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Exilenova+.

According to preliminary information, in Tuapse, drones hit 'Berth 1 of the Tuapse oil terminal', also known as 'Deep-Water Berth of Rosneft'. It is reported that the impact occurred on the central cargo trestle, which is the main hub for the transshipment of oil and heavy petroleum products between the terminal's shore tanks and tankers.

Drones also attacked the Temryuk seaport in Krasnodar Krai. As is known, the capacity of the oil product transshipment terminal exceeds 2 million tons per year.


Moreover, drones attacked Lazarevskoye in Krasnodar Krai.

That night, explosions were also heard in occupied Alchevsk in the Luhansk region and in Kursk. In the occupied Luhansk region, Alchevsk was hit, causing local power outages. Local Telegram channels report that a fire broke out after the drone strike. According to some sources, transformer oil is on fire.

It is worth noting that on the night of October 31, the Orel TPP in the city of Orel in Russia was attacked. The primary purpose of the TPP is to produce electric and thermal energy for the needs of the city of Orel and the surrounding areas. A substation was also attacked in the Vladimir region.

Earlier, The Economist reported that Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure are gaining new scale. The Kremlin actively uses cheap Shahed drones and missiles to deliver pinpoint strikes on the country's electrical networks. With the arrival of winter, Russia aims to destroy key elements of the energy system, hoping to make large parts of Ukraine uninhabitable.
