Funding for Combat Brigades
In February, Ukrainian combat brigades received over 4.5 billion hryvnias to procure drones and electronic warfare (EW) equipment through the DOT-Chain Defence system. This platform operates as a specialized marketplace, allowing military units to directly select the hardware they need. The funds are already available in their personal accounts, streamlining the procurement process significantly. This system represents a major shift from traditional, centralized military procurement, empowering front-line commanders.
Units on the front lines receive monthly funding to order equipment. The DOT-Chain Defence marketplace currently lists more than 470 models from 135 different manufacturers. In its first six months of operation, the system has facilitated the delivery of approximately 350,000 units of equipment, with the total value of these deliveries exceeding 16 billion hryvnias. For any questions regarding the use of DOT-Chain Defence, personnel should contact their assigned support manager from the DOT Defence Procurement Agency.
Innovations in Defense Procurement
The implementation of the DOT-Chain Defence system has dramatically simplified the process of equipping military units with vital hardware, a critical factor in modern warfare. The high speed of supply and the ability to choose from a wide range of models directly enhance the effectiveness of defense efforts. This agile approach is essential for countering rapidly evolving battlefield threats.
This underscores the crucial importance of innovation in defense procurement and the need to adapt to the demands of contemporary warfare.
