Britain and Ukraine have announced a joint program for the production of interceptor drones aimed at creating a 'wall of drones' to counter Russian aggression. According to The Telegraph, the project named 'Octopus' involves the rapid production of drones in Britain and their delivery to Ukraine to enhance protection.
'We are using advanced manufacturing technologies not available in Ukraine, and will supply them by the thousands to help Ukrainians defend themselves,' emphasized British Defense Minister John Healey.
According to the agreement, both countries will have joint intellectual property to deploy drones in other NATO countries as well. The production of drones is promised to be done for less than a tenth of the cost of competitors, with their effectiveness already proven in practice during the fight against Iranian Shahed drones.
Protection against Russian drones and missiles
The measures for the 'wall of drones' on the border have been adopted by European countries in connection with the increasing cases of violations of air borders in Poland, Estonia, Denmark, and Norway by Russian drones and missiles.
Recently, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland have recorded actions of unidentified drones near their critical facilities, further emphasizing the need for measures to protect against such threats.
The cooperation between Britain and Ukraine in the creation of a 'wall of drones' is an important step in strengthening the defense capability and protection against potential Russian aggression for both countries. This innovative project envisions close collaboration in the field of drone production and their use for protecting air borders in Europe.
