The United Kingdom is Reforming Railways: What Passengers Can Expect from November

Великобританія змінює систему залізничного сполучення: нововведення для пасажирів з листопада.

In November, the UK government is introducing new measures for public transport use. In particular, the changes will affect railway and bus passengers. Improvements in comfort, modernization of infrastructure, and digital services are all part of the new rules.

Starting from November, Britons will be able to use an automatic bus card renewal system for various types. This will allow passengers to avoid the need to submit repeat applications for renewal. The system will automatically check official registers to confirm the validity of documents.

There is also progress towards modernizing public transport - passengers will be able to store their passes on their phone or on a 'smart' card. This update will enable virtual use of passes, but plastic cards will still remain valid. Additionally, the government has established new hours for free travel - from 9:30 AM to 11:00 PM on weekdays. This is intended to equalize benefits among different regions of the country.

There is also the railway system reform underway - the UK plans to return management to public control. The Railways Bill proposes the creation of a new public enterprise, Great British Railways (GBR), which will combine infrastructure and passenger transport functions.

Passengers will be able to take advantage of a new ticket sales system, which will have a single GBR app. The new structure will also be responsible for protecting passenger rights and investigating violations. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the nationalization of passenger companies in the country is planned.

The innovations in public transport in the United Kingdom include automatic renewal of bus cards, the ability to use passes virtually, as well as a railway system reform with the introduction of the new public enterprise Great British Railways. All these changes are aimed at improving the quality of service and comfort for passengers.
