Mobilization reservation: do we need to wait for the probation period to end

In Ukraine, there are no regulations that oblige employers to wait for the probation period to end when reserving new employees. Reservation is possible from the moment of official employment, provided all requirements are met.

It is possible to arrange a deferment from mobilization immediately after official employment. To be eligible for reservation, an employee must meet four criteria:

  • being on military registration,
  • up-to-date information,
  • absence of 'In search' status,
  • official employment.

This means that employers can count on reserving their new employees without the need to wait for the completion of their probation period, streamlining the procedure.

According to current regulations, no more than 50% of liable employees can be reserved. However, for critically important enterprises, this threshold can be increased to 100%. This allows essential industries to maintain their personnel potential at a time when the country needs support during mobilization.

Moreover, the average salary of the enterprise and the salary of the specific employee must not be less than 20,000 UAH for the reservation to be possible. This is an additional condition that ensures that the reservation applies to employees whose contribution to the economy is significant.

Reservation procedure and digital platforms

The reservation procedure has been accelerated thanks to the development of digital platforms, particularly the 'Diia' portal. This simplifies the application submission process and obtaining responses to requests, which is an important aspect in the rapidly changing labor market situation.

'Reservation is possible immediately after employment if the employee meets all the conditions and the enterprise is entitled to a reservation,' noted Mykhailo Lobunko.

Thus, the issue of reserving new employees in Ukraine remains relevant and important for employers in the context of mobilization.

This news highlights changes in the rules for reserving employees in Ukraine, which is an important aspect in the context of military mobilization. Streamlining the reservation procedure for new employees allows enterprises to adapt more quickly to the labor market needs while retaining their key employees. It also indicates the need to support the country's economy during instability when the personnel potential of companies becomes critically important for their functioning. The growing role of digital platforms, such as 'Diia', also indicates a trend toward automation and simplification of government procedures, which can positively impact the business environment in Ukraine.
