Internal Unity as the Foundation for Victory
Speaking at the Kyiv Security Forum, Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stressed that the country’s success hinges on internal social cohesion rather than merely relying on foreign aid. He stated,
“Our strength, our inner strength, is our unity. External support—yes, that involves working with partners and allies… But our internal power comes from being united, from our resilience and our will to fight.”
Bringing Ukrainians Together in the Struggle
Budanov emphasized the need for all Ukrainians to rally behind a shared objective. He remarked,
“You could supply us with a million tanks, drones, and aircraft, but without unity, none of it will work.”The presidential office head added, “We must all come together—whether we like each other or not—for the sake of achieving our goal.”
Ultimately, the primary aim remains preserving the state and securing its future, which Budanov argued is impossible without societal unity. While acknowledging the importance of external backing, he insisted that Ukraine’s greatest asset is its cohesion.
Budanov’s remarks at the forum highlight how crucial internal consolidation is for Ukraine amid ongoing external aggression. Given the current challenges facing the nation, this focus on unity could prove decisive in determining the country’s ability to withstand threats. According to him, bringing society together around a common purpose is essential for achieving long-term stability and security.
In addition to the emphasis on unity, Budanov has also addressed the pressing issue of systemic corruption in Ukraine, advocating for a shift from 'manual control' to more robust governance structures. This approach not only supports the call for internal cohesion but also plays a crucial role in fortifying the nation's resilience against external threats.
