New Advisors Appointed in the Presidential Office
Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Presidential Office, has named Serhiy Tigipko, Roman Devyatov, and Andriy Yusov as part-time advisors. These appointments are part of a broader reshuffle following Budanov’s own appointment to lead the office. Meanwhile, figures like Mykhailo Podolyak, Serhiy Leshchenko, Ihor Veremiy, and Viktoriya Strakhova have retained their roles as advisors to the entire Presidential Office.
Leadership Changes and New Appointments
The leadership shift at the Presidential Office took place in 2025, leading to the formal dismissal of some advisors, who were later reinstated. Mykhailo Podolyak and Serhiy Leshchenko, previously advisors to the head of the office, now serve as advisors to the broader Presidential Office. Ihor Veremiy brings expertise in economics and public administration, having held positions in the Ministry of Economy and the Presidential Administration. Viktoriya Strakhova has a background in finance and law and previously served on the supervisory board of Ukreximbank.
Serhiy Tigipko, a former deputy prime minister and leader of the Strong Ukraine party, has a notable political history, having voted in favor of the so-called dictatorial laws in 2014. He is currently the owner of the TAS financial-industrial group. Roman Devyatov, another new advisor, has experience in local politics, while Andriy Yusov is a former representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
It is worth noting that April 2 marked 90 days since Kyrylo Budanov was appointed head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, highlighting the pace and activity of personnel changes in this key institution.
These personnel shifts within the Presidential Office reflect the new team’s drive to refresh and refine administrative structures. By appointing specialists from diverse fields—including economics, law, and politics—the office aims to enhance its effectiveness in shaping state policy. Such changes are likely to have implications for both domestic and foreign policy, especially as Ukraine navigates ongoing challenges.
